Colossi of Memnon

● Stop at the impressive Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, rising about 18 meters high and standing proudly for more than 3,000 years. These monumental figures once guarded the entrance of a vast mortuary temple that has now mostly disappeared. Known in ancient times for the mysterious “singing” sound at sunrise, the statues became a symbol of wonder for travelers. Valley of Queens
